Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari, who is on a visit to Ankara, met with Turkish Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance Osman Çelik on Tuesday where they discussed bilateral cooperation.
Speaking during the meeting, the Iranian foreign ministry official said that Iran tries to identify and remove the obstacles on the way of relations with Turkiye so as to materialize the goals for trade and economic cooperation with the neighboring country.
He underlined the cultural and historical commonalities between Iran and Turkiye, noting that the leaders of both countries are resolved to give a boost to trade and economic cooperation between the two nations.
The Turkish side, for his part, said that the Turkish officials aim to further expand ties with Iran as advised by the presidents of the two countries in line with agreements made in a last year top-ranking meeting of Iran and Turkiye.
